My mom didn't buy junk food and candy. Almost never. When we went to the movies she would bring carrot sticks and celery. No need to buy popcorn or candy. I longed for the Dots. The bright box and yummy looking candies called to me. The first thing I did when I was old enough to have my own money and go to the movies without mom, was buy a box of Dots. I tore open the box and popped one in my mouth. What a disappointment, it was awful. Even worse than the Dot was that mom was right, again.
