Back in the 70’s these were not a popular look, but they were my gym shoes. I wanted Nike’s, but we couldn’t afford them. I got teased a lot for those shoes back in middle school, when teasing is perfected. My mom didn’t really coach me on how to deal with the bullies, but she did teach me to be resilient and kind to others, regardless of what they were wearing. Somehow these shoes have survived the test of time and if I had my old bobo’s now, I would be in the cool crowd, and I wouldn’t care.
