We have a cat.

We didn’t choose him.

We said we would never own a cat. (We like them, just not as much as dogs)

9 years ago our son lured a stray cat into his college apartment.

We were happy that he was taking responsibility for it.

Fast Forward a few years….

Son graduates, can’t take the cat to his new apartment, doesn’t want to give him up.

We have a cat. A very sweet, annoying, sometimes destructive cat we didn’t choose, but love a lot.
