Ghost crabs are my favorite thing to watch at the beach besides the people. I love how they scurry across the sand and dart into their burrows, and then peek out again. This summer I found a burrow and waited patiently for one to emerge. He posed there for me like he knew I wanted a reference photo. Then he rubbed his claws together and dove back into his burrow.
