Oil on Board with Black Wood Floater Frame
My mom had lung cancer. It eventually spread to her brain. I was her caregiver and near the end we spent hours watching the Food Network. In 2012 the Food Network would often repeat episodes of Chopped, a chef competition show that mom loved. She was competitive by nature and liked to wager at the beginning of the show which chef would win. At the end, she didn't realize that the episodes were repeats from the previous day, and so I would take her bet and always win, because I remembered who won. I heard a lot of "ree-di-cu-lus and pa-THE-tics when she had to pay up. After a few days she realized something was fishy, I fessed up, we had a good laugh, and she loved that I found a way to win. And, I kept her quarters.
